OPI Gelcolor soak off gel polish (launched October 2011) applies just like traditional nail polish, but gives you a super glossy finish that lasts up to two weeks. You can simply apply the gel like regular nail polish and cure it in a UV or LED lamp for a certain time.

How long does OPI Gelcolor take to set?
The curing time of Gelcolor gel polish depends very much on the type of lamp used. Gelcolor LED lamps will take 20-30 seconds to cure. However, it will take 2-3 minutes to cure using a UV lamp. Check out the latest LED lamp for faster curing!

How to use OPI Gelcolor nail polish?
The process of applying Gelcolor is very similar to other absorption gel polishes... You do it like this:

Preparation

Step 1. Prepare the nail by using an orange wood stick to push the cuticles back to apply the gel.

Step 2. Shape your nails to your style with a natural nail file (150 grit or more)

Step 3. Prep the natural nail by gently removing the polish with a buffer... gently buff to smooth the nail bases.

Step 4. Remove oils and dust from the nail using a nail cleaner

Step 5. (Roll the gel color bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin, even layer of Gelcolor Base Coat to the nail.

Step 6. Place your hand in the LED lamp and hold for 10 seconds or in the UV lamp and hold for 1 minute. The top coat will remain tacky/tacky, but that's normal for any gel polish that drains.

Step 7. (Roll the Gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin, even layer of Gelcolor Color coating to the nail. Don't forget to file the edges of the nails to create a seal. Be sure to remove any Gelcolor from the skin before curing.

Step 8. Place your hand in the LED lamp and hold for 20 seconds or in the UV lamp and hold for 2 minutes.

Step 9. Apply the second layer of Gelcolor color to the nail.

Step 10. Place hand in LED lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV lamp and cure for 2 minutes.

Step 11. Apply a thin, even layer of Gelcolor Top Coat to the nail. The top coat creates a high shine while protecting the underlying gel layers from damage. Don't forget to file the edges of the nails to create a seal.

Step 12. Place your hand in the LED lamp and hold for 20 seconds or in the UV lamp and hold for 2 minutes.

Step 13. Use a generous amount of alcohol (99%) or gel cleanser with a lint-free pad to remove sticky/tacky residue from the nail.
